U-11's Advance to Power Cup Final   19/05/2015

Mervue Utd 3-1 Renmore (U-11 Kevin Power Cup Semi-Final)

Mervue Utd's under 11's advanced to the final of the Kevin Power Cup with a great win over neighbours Renmore last Wednesday following a 3-1 win after extra time.

Two goals from Keane Griffin and another from Kian Keavey was enough to see off a very strong Renmore side.

Mervue led at the break with a great finish from Keane Griffin on the stroke of half time but Renmore deservedly levelled matters in the second half.

The game ended 1-1 so extra time was required to find a winner and Griffin was on hand to finish to the net following good build up play from Mikey Kelly and give Mervue the edge once again.

Mervue added a third goal when Kian Keavey was in the right place to hammer home to make it 3-1 late on and send his side into the final and put them on course to win the Power Cup for the second year running having only captured the 2014 title last November.

Best for Mervue were Ciaran Kinsella, Finn Mclntyre, Keane Griffin, Connor Fahy, Joshua and Matthew O'Connor, Tommy and Jamie Hayes, Kian Keavey and Niall Jordon.

The final will take place against Athenry on Saturday 30th May at 12 noon in Eamonn Deacy Park .
