Mervue Utd's unbeaten home record will be put to the test on Friday evening as they host league leaders Longford Town at Fahy's Field in the Airtricity First Division. Kick-off is at 7.45 p.m. in Fahy's Field.

Johnny Glynn's side have yet to experience defeat at Fahy's Field this season with three wins and two draws to date. A win on Friday evening would move them back to within three points of the league leaders. They do however go into the game on the back on successive defeats for the first time this season, having narrowly lost 1-0 to Finn Harps last Friday night and again on Monday night to Premier Division champions, Sligo Rovers, 4-0 in the EA Sports Cup second round.

Glynn continues to contend with a very long injury list as Alex Lee (foot), Gary Curran (knee) and Gary Shanahan (foot) are all definite non-starters, while captain Tom King (hamstring), Jason Molloy (ankle), Marc Ludden (foot), Noel Varley (back) and Martin Conneely (knee) are all doubtful for the game.

Midfielder Barry O'Mahoney is suspended following his sending off on his debut in the EA Sports cup game with Sligo on Monday. Defenders Mike Elwood and Kenny Farrell will return to the squad having been unavailable for the cup game, while goalkeeper Brian O'Donoghue will also return for the first time in three games following concussion (against Salthill) and work commitments.

Glynn on Friday's league game "Another big test for us against the league leaders especially as we will be down to the bare bones of our squad with the amount of injuries we are carrying at the moment, but the lads are looking forward to a big home game on Friday night."
