Mervue United 4-0 Carrick United
Mervue United's U-12 team advanced to the quarter finals of the Irish cup after a 4-0 defeat of Waterford League side, Carrick Utd, in their last sixteen tie at Fahy's Field on Saturday afternoon.
The home side had the game in the bag by half time as another impressive display from Eric Connolly and Owen Shaughnessy's side saw them hit the visitors for three first half goals without reply.
A goal on 24 minutes from Aaron Dossen opened the scoring before Liam Melody and Sam O'Neill added two more strikes for a comfortable 3-0 interval lead.
The impressive Baba Adeeko added the only goal of the second period as the home side marched onto the last eight were they will face an away trip to Dublin side Crumlin Utd who defeated Pike Rovers (Limerick) on penalties at the weekend.
